Synopsis

This course will expose the students to the concepts and basic theories of entrepreneurships.  It describes various definitions of entrepreneurship; entrepreneurial traits; skills and knowledge needed by an entrepreneur.  It helps us in identifying certain characteristics and discusses the current example of successful entrepreneurs in Malaysian context.  In this course we introduce the guideline for initiating new venture and skills in developing entrepreneurial venture.

Group Project (100%)

 

 

The Objectives

1.      To apply students’ understanding of business concepts that will be exposed in the class

2.      To develop students’ ability in team working

3.      To develop students’ presentation skills

 

The Tasks

1.      Students will be assigned to a group of 7-8 members

2.      In a group students will choose the leader and the group name

3.      To complete the assignment each group is required to do the following:

3.1        Submit a two page proposal containing a brief description of developing a business. This will include the type of the business, target market and all aspects of business areas that you have learned in class. 

3.2        The strategic plan paper must consist of type of product or service, type of companies, market analysis, cash flow, financing consideration and implementation procedures. 

3.3        Run the project for about 4 weeks. Present the outcome of the business to the class.  Each presentation will be no longer than 10 minutes with a question and answer session to follow.  Each member of the group must participate in the presentation
